Ronald McDonald House Combines SMS & the Web for Mobile Fundraising
The Ronald McDonald House in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana is using mobile donations to raise money to build the largest Ronald McDonald House in the world, according to Mobile Marketer.
The non-profit showed a video with a call-to-action asking people to text in. The response message contained a web link where users could go online to complete the donation. The text message itself didn’t actually trigger a donation.
Watch this space closely as we are going to continue to see organization experiment with various ways to raise money using mobile technology beyond premium SMS. Hopefully the Ronald McDonald House will be able to share some of their results with us when the campaign is over.
